Updated Product List

So today I am going to tell you all about the products I currently used. My staples have changed. My goal is to use products that are more natural and can be found in the food oil isles at grocery stores.

The Products I Use:

  1. Olive Oil -  This oil increases blood circulation and allows you to have a healthy scalp.
  2. Water - This is key to having healthy hair. I spray my hair with water when I am styling it. Water helps remove dirt when you are washing your hair. When I have a protective style such as box braids, I make sure that I spray my scalp with water before I apply oil. It helps move the product around.
  3. Jamaican Black Castor Oil - JBCO helps thicken natural hair.
  4. Tea Tree Oil - This soothes a dry and flaky scalp.
  5. Dove Nutritive Solutions Conditioner - I use this conditioner to wash my hair. It smells super good and really makes my curls pop.
  6. Eco Styler Gel - I use this to slick my edges when I have a protective style. I really like using this gel for flat twist outs.
  7. Aussie Sprunch Hairspray - I only use this spray on protective styles to keep them smelling and looking fresh. I do not use this on my natural hair.
  8. Blue Magic Organics Scalp Conditioner - I use this on wash days to add moisture to my hair. I do not use this on my scalp. After I apply this product, I seal it in with an oil.

DIY Hair Growth Oil

Hey guys it's been a while since I have posted on this blog. I found a DIY hair growth oil recipe and I would like to share it with you.

- Castor oil
- Cayenne pepper
- Black tea
- Biotin
- Rosemary oil
- Onion seed oil
- Garlic seed oil

I don't have the measurements but when I make the oil I will try to put an equal amount of everything. Some of the ingredients aren't liquids so here is what I will do:

1. After I gather all the ingredients, I will put an equal amount of everything in a container and close the lid.

2. Let the mixture sit for about 24 hours.

3. Put a sieve over a different container and pour the mixture in.

4. Pour the growth oil into a application bottle and you're done!

The most important thing you need for growing out 4C hair

I have seen YouTube videos about how to grow out natural hair. I deep condition, moisturize, protective style, eat healthy, give my hair breaks, finger detangle, cut down on shampoo's and I rarely use heat. I seem to be doing everything right. There is 1 thing I am missing. That thing is patience. You can't get it from a store. Patience is the key to success and to healthy natural hair. I spend my time thinking about all the cool styles I will do when I have long hair when I should be focusing on my current length.

Different High Puff Styles

The high puff is one of my favorite go-to hairstyles. It is simple but can be complex at the same time. So today I will show you 3 different ways to rock your high puff. 1. This is the traditional high puff. You can use an afro pick to make it look bigger.
https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiDkIW14YfLAhVQ2GMKHc3oCOcQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Flucyspearls.com%2Fhow-to-wear-a-high-puff-on-natural-hair%2F&psig=AFQjCNGQW-ZLSGFFJATHoBgOC9XA8I-j6A&ust=1456105817474004 2. This style is very similar to the last one. The only difference is that the puff is on its side.
https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwitgPvO4YfLAhXHKGMKHeuLA_wQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fnaturallymemedia.com%2Fnatural-hair-style-puff%2F&psig=AFQjCNGQW-ZLSGFFJATHoBgOC9XA8I-j6A&ust=1456105817474004 3. Last but not least is my favorite style. As you can see in the picture, there is a braid stretching across the front. Behind the braid there is a puff. You can also do a flat twist instead of a braid.
https://www.google.ca/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjSsIip4ofLAhVDMGMKHQxrBh8QjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.africanamericanhairstylevideos.com%2Fhigh-puff-short-hairstyle%2F&psig=AFQjCNGQW-ZLSGFFJATHoBgOC9XA8I-j6A&ust=1456105817474004 So this is all for my high puff styles. You can also do a braidout or twistout for these styles and wear it in a puff. I hope you enjoyed this post. I hope you will recreate some of these styles!

Protective styling

What is a protective style? Can it only be braids and twists?
A protective style on natural hair is when you are protecting your hair and its ends. It doesn't always have to be braiding hair styles or twisting styles. It can be braid outs, twist outs, bantou knot outs, curl formers and many more.
You can go on YouTube and search up some protective styles for your hair.

An important thing to know is that you need to leave your hair alone sometimes. What I mean by that is do some styles that can be easily managed and don't be doing your hair everyday. Some twist outs can stay looking good for maybe 3 days. Your 4C hair will do good when you let it grow and not be always having your hands in it doing stuff.

So that's it for today's entry. I hope you enjoyed.

Post 1: About your hair

  Post 1; About 4C hair

Hair Chart
Link: http://rasasalon.com/blog/care-for-4c-hair/

Everyone's hair is on one big list that defines it. The list goes 1a being straight, to 4c being poofy, voluminous, kinky, and naturally dry. People all around say "my hair doesn't grow" but it really does. You just need learn about its behaviours. You also need to buy the right products that work for you.

4C hair is pretty hard to take care of. Its naturally dry and needs extra moisture and i've got just the perfect method. It is called the LOC method. It stands for liquid, oil and, cream. To grow your hair, you should get these things.

1. Liquid: liquid in its simplest form is water. Water is so natural and is an essential to get thick, long and healthy hair. Water itself makes my hair shrivel up in curls but it is healthy for hair so to prevent that shrinkage from happening, I add water to my hair when it is in braids or in any other protective style.

2. Oil: Oil is pretty important too because it provides moisture to both your scalp and hair.

3. Cream: You need cream to moisturise, help style and lock in moisture.

Well guys that's it for now so if you have any questions you can ask and remember that im not an expert so if there is anything you would like to correct me on, please do it nicely. Thanks for reading this entry and bye!
